The Internet & Mobile Association of India organised its 2nd edition of India Affiliate Summit this month in Delhi NCR. The intention of the second iteration of the India Affiliate Summit was to try to bring together the Affiliate Marketing industry. A lot of well known people were there like Parul Bhargava – CEO of vCommission, Swati Bhargava – Co-Founder at Cashkaro and many more. It was a two day event at The Leela Hotel, Gurgaon. It was a great opportunity for those who had less knowledge about how to grow their business via Internet Marketing. A lot of stalls were there of various Online marketing companies which were eager to help us. Even the speakers were very effective. “Been there, done that” was of great help for the novice entrepreneurs. Though I only attended a half day event, I could say that India Affiliate Summit is something to look forward to.
But yeah there were many glitched too in the event. There was a lack of management. There was a separate world for the different categories (gold/silver/bronze holders). After inviting the guests, the bronze holders were treated poorly. Food was served in the basement with very poor lighting. When asked the Hotel staff, we got to know that there was some problem with the lighting in the basement. The food they served to bronze was actually an insult. When we all went back we saw that the gold & silver holders were being served at the same floor where event was taking place. And the food section was massive. Event being in Delhi-NCR , the least they could have kept was Roti-daal, but yeah even that was not there for bronze.
Its not about the food but the way you treat people. You cant win hearts when you dont know how to respect them. I hope next time this event occurs, they bring equality among all rather than just focusing on the gold holders.
